Hezbollah Chief Offers Condolences on Death of Ramadan Abdullah

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah expressed condolences over the death of former leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement Ramadan Abdullah Shalah.

 

The Hezbollah leader had a telephone conversation with current Islamic Jihad chief, Ziad al-Nakhala, on Tuesday.

He expressed condolences to the Palestinian people and the family of Shalah over the death of the resistance figure.

Hezbollah’s second-in-command, Sheikh Naim Qassim, also condoled the death of Shalah and described him as a man who spent his life in Jihad and struggle for Palestine.

Ramadan Abdullah who had been in coma for more than three years died last week.

It wasn’t said where he died, but he is believed to have been in Lebanon. Shalah, who was born in Gaza, had led Palestinian Islamic Jihad from 1995 until 2018 after the assassination of his predecessor, Fathi Shaqaqi.

Ziad al-Nakhala was chosen to lead the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement in 2018 because of Shalah’s illness.
